On our first full day here met up with Blake, our daughter and son-in-law’s friend living in Beijing. He had agreed to take us around the city for the day.
Our first stop was a mosque. Very old and in need of some repair the buildings were spare except for the ceilings and roof tops which were elaborately adorned and painted in bright elaborate designs. The eye was forced to look up and I thought this was more of a representation of heaven.
I saw a little boy in the garden wearing a scull cap, a gentle child who played with the blades of grass along one of the walkways. He strummed the grass with his hands as though he were listening to a melody.
