June 6th might be national doughnut day here in the USA, but while we were in Spain we saw a few shops that specialized in these tasty treats. And for the Americano who is traveling in Spain and in need of a taste of back home, there are a few Dunkin’ Donut shops scattered here and there throughout the country.
I saw this little boy leaning on the counter of a Dunkin’ Donut shop in Madrid. His mom and dad had already made their selection and it was his turn to chose which doughnut he wanted. He took the longest time to make up his mind and then finally decided on the one with the most sprinkles.
Ah, but in Barcelona my favorite way to eat a crisp, fresh from the frier, sugar dusted after-dinner doughnut was with a glass of Spanish Brandy!!!
